May 2017

Dear Prospective CHS Volleyball Players,

We are excited for the start of volleyball season.  Here is some information that will help you prepare for tryouts in August:

Summer Activities

This is the best way to prepare for the season.  This summer we are focusing on developing athleticism.

Volleyball conditioning and strength training

July 6 - August 10

Tuesdays & Thursdays @ 5:30pm - 7pm

CHS Fitness Ctr.

Volleyball Open Gym

July 5 - August 9

Mondays & Wednesdays @ 10:00 am -12:00 pm

CHS Main Gym

Tryouts to be held in CHS Main Gym

 Monday, August 14; 10 am - 12 pm

Tuesday, August 15; 10 am - 12 pm

Wednesday, August 16; 10 am - 12 pm

All incoming freshmen and students new to CHS Sports must have a current physical received by CHS prior to the first day of tryouts.  No physical-no tryout.  Physicals must not be older than one year from the start of the season. All other forms may be submitted to coaching staff upon being selected on the team.

Team selection will be very competitive.  Players will only be placed on the varsity team if they display the skills to compete at a varsity level.  There is no guarantee that previous play on a team means automatic selection back onto that team.  All positions are available and will be given to the players who earn them.

We hope to see you through the summer.

Coaching Philosophy: My philosophy is that winning is a by-product of other team cultures. It is these cultures that are truly important when developing a team. These include dedication, sportsmanship, hard work, respect and enjoying the game and one another. Although winning always feels good, I feel the most accomplished when I have instilled the love of a game that can be played throughout a lifetime.
