The Concord School District will provide training, security systems and state-of-the-art infrastructures that support and enhance the safety of all students and staff in our schools.
Important Note – items with a * have been completed. Safety and security measures are continuously evaluated for improvement.
Goal 1
Continuously develop and review safe school environments for students, staff, and faculty.
- Perform a districtwide analysis and cost proposal to enhance safety and security.*
- Engage school safety teams to implement the Emergency Operation Plans.*
- Participate in citywide crisis support teams.*
- Provide ongoing training to all stakeholders.*
- Determine reunification sites for all district buildings.*
- Update life safety equipment, such as walkie-talkie radios.
- Work with Homeland Security, NHED, local Fire and Police to increase collaborative responsiveness, planning and preparation.*
Goal 2
Create and sustain structures that optimize responses to safety for all.
- Consider the addition of an SRO at Rundlett Middle School.
- Incorporate the use of a Critical Incident Response Protocol into our safety strategies to address mental and behavioral health in safety and crisis situations.
- Develop and implement a Behavior Intervention Team at the district level to ensure the consideration of preventative safety.
- Regularly evaluate and review the hard security infrastructure and tools at every building.*
- Provide ongoing training to staff around safety tools and protocols.*
- New – Create a districtwide Behavior Intervention team that improves safety for district.
