The Concord School District strives to create a welcoming learning environment that challenges every student and recognizes each student’s unique abilities.

Goal 1

Conduct an equity audit to determine areas of improvement and areas of strengths throughout the district.

  • Evaluate access to academic programs, co-curricular opportunities and after school programs across all populations.
  • Develop a process for sustained professional development in the area of equity development.

Goal 2

Identify and increase community partnerships and programs that support equity, diversity, justice, inclusion and a sense of belonging.

  • Collaborate with the city and local agencies to address racial equity.
  • Increase home visiting program.
  • Increase transportation access for students and families.
  • Develop a resource site for families and students.
  • Hire staff that reflect the diversity of students.
  • New – explore a central location for families to access supports and services
  • New – Develop partnerships with higher ed organizations to increase internships and opportunities for students.

Goal 3

Minimize barriers and stigma associated with diverse populations.

  • Provide opportunities for students and staff to share their cultural heritage in a safe place.
  • Foster opportunities for advocacy to promote equality.

Goal 4

Create a professional development plan that is cyclical, relevant and pertinent to staff, students and the community in the areas of equity and diversity.

  • Provide training to staff on cultural competencies.
